Top 5 Books with a Number in the Title

It’s time for another Top 5 Saturday (led by the wonderful Mandy @ Devouring Books)! I expected this to be a harder topic… but it was actually easier than I expected? And I’m excited to share all of these books! So here we go!

Rules!

  • Share your top 5 books of the current topic– these can be books that you want to read, have read and loved, have read and hated, you can do it any way you want.
  • Tag the original post (This one!)

10 Blind Dates by Ashley Elston

10 Blind Dates is a hilarious rom com filled with family shenanigans, lots of horrifying dates, and an adorable romance that I couldn’t get enough of. It’s so fun and lighthearted.

The Hundredth Queen by Emily R. King

This book. THIS SERIES. Oh my word it is the best. The Hundredth Queen series includes a wicked strong protagonist, a dashing love interest, elemental magic, and a cruel and brutal antagonist. This series is is EVERYTHING. Definitely go read it!

Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake

Another amazing series opener! I admit I had a hard time getting into this book, but once I reached the midpoint, I was completely hooked. It’s kind of addicting. If you haven’t read this series, you should! I haven’t read the rest of it yet, but I really need to.

Forest of a Thousand Lanterns by Julie C. Dao

Forest of a Thousand Lanterns is an origin story of the evil queen from the story Snow White, though the story takes place in a world that is inspired by Asian folklore. It’s dark and brutal as well as intensely fascinating.

The Fifth Doll by Charlie N. Holmberg

This is one of Charlie Holmberg’s creepier books, and I loved it! She draws off of Russian folklore to tell a tale of a young woman who discovers these dolls that look exactly like the people in her small village. It’s eerie, atmospheric, and very intriguing.

Do you have any favorite books with numbers in the title?

  1. I am FINALLY about to start Three Dark Crowns. The audible came off hold at the library. I am reading too many ARCs to read backlists so audible is the only way I’m getting to them and I’ve been swearing I’m going to get to it for over a year. Finally I’m going to start it… PRAY

      1. What the mess is this book lady??!!! HOLY CRAP! One sister is gonna poison the other two and then the other’s council is gonna hack the other two up – meanwhile that same sister just slept with Jule’s finance??! Like do I have that right?!!!

      2. Wait though now I haz more questions… lol … but maybe I should ask on twitter. I’m a little confused by all the people… like so first they killed the zombie bear that Arsinoe thought was her familiar but wasnt and now there is the real bear?

And I know Katharine’s council is trying to stop the whole hacking to bits part. Chathworth (someone’s dad) whose son is supposed to marry Katharine (who is sleeping with Petyr) went and to see Natalia so they can figure out how to stop the hacking thing like I mentioned above. Plus Natalia told Petyr knowing he loves Katherine and he went apeshit about the whole thing.

But what about Arsinoe’s council? Do they even know and if so why are they upset Billy helped her escape… and what is exactly wrong with her magic… this low magic thing?

Oh and Billy… hes the son of – Mirabelle’st father
right? and is supposed to marry Mirabella who is sleeping still with Joseph after he just begged forgiveness of Jules? But Billy just helped Arsinoe escape and is her best friend… so hes like playing both sides basically? That cant end well for him.

Well I mean this cant end well for anyone but yeah lol

And yet with all that (assuming i have that all straight). I feel like, being 75% in, that I’m missing some pretty big plot points somehow.

        Help!

  2. Okay so I didn’t love Three Dark Crowns, but I did find it addicting, that is the perfect way to describe that book. I really do want to read The Hundredth Queen! I debated having it on my list and I am pretty sure that I got a copy with Prime reading. SO glad to hear you loved it. I also have a copy of A Forest of A Thousand Lanterns that I want to read, glad to hear it’s a darker read because I love that kind of stuff!!!
