As a young girl, reading lit up my imagination and spread it like wildfire. I read whatever I could get my hands on: The Boxcar Children, Nancy Drew, Eragon, The Chronicles of Narnia, Warriors, and Percy Jackson and the Olympians were my favorites in elementary school. I loved telling my siblings and writing down made-up stories about my favorite characters before I’d even heard the words “fan fiction.”
Now, at 22, I’ve graduated with a degree in English and I have no intentions to stop writing novels. I’m currently writing a YA high fantasy with two fierce protagonists, a high-stakes plot, and a killer romance.
Young adult literature waltzed into my life in middle school, hooking me for life. I began writing original stories about fierce yet uncertain women living in fantastical worlds, and I finished writing a 55-chapter novel (written all by hand) at 13.
When I’m not reading, writing, or editing (which, admittedly, isn’t often), I love baking sweet treats, knitting, playing board games, teasing my old lady cat, and trying to beat my husband at video games (which also doesn’t happen often).

- Heir Apparent by Vivian Vande Velde
- The Ordinary Princess by M. M. Kaye

- The Seven Realms by Cinda Williams Chima

Favorite Fairy Tale: “The Little Mermaid” by Hans Christian Anderson (and yes, that is the tragic one. And yes, I could rant your ear off why I prefer that story to the Disney movie)
Night Owl or Early Bird? I believe most people would consider me an early bird (though I hate waking up before 7).
Best Word Processor: I will stand by Scrivener forever. I love you Word, but still.
Pen & Paper or Keyboard? This changes almost seasonally for me. Sometimes, I cannot write on my laptop. That blinking cursor is usually my bane. Writing by hand is often so relaxing that I tend to go that route when I need to. Both have their pros and cons for me.
Favorite Board/Card Games: Settlers of Catan, Cover Your Assets, Rummikub
