As if middle-school wasn’t tough enough, two students who are sworn enemies run into big problems when a freaky event makes them switch places! Now they must work together if they want their old lives back, but the journey of being in someone else’s shoes may bring some BIG surprises.

Don’t miss out on this new original graphic novel from author Kate Karyus Quinn known for her work on Not HungryThe Show Must Go OnDown with the ShineAnother little Piece and more.

Quick Thoughts

  • This is basically the best, happiest, most uplifting book I’ve read in such a long time.
  • That’s it. That’s my only quick thought.

Lasting Impressions

I want to talk about the art first because it is GORGEOUS! It’s so fun, with lots of bright colors. The characters are so different in look and personality, and the art really showcased that.

I just want to squeeze Piper and Sloane so so so much—they both deserve all the hugs! They are both dealing with a lot of problems in their life, but they both have their unique strengths and weaknesses. I loved how the Freaky Friday trope was used to show how Piper and Sloane grew in their ability to listen and learn from each other. Their growth and their eventual friendship just made my heart so dang happy.

Overall Feelings

Rating: 5 out of 5.

I really hope DC Zoom continues to publish more stories including Piper and Sloane, because I would absolutely read it! Already I’m planning on purchasing Anti/Hero—it’s just that amazing.
